Study acting with me

“I studied with Bridget for two years.  She is an amazing teacher and wonderful mentor.  She helped me to be comfortable with who I am as an actor and be able to truly step into my character’s shoes. Not only did she help me find great monologues that were a great fit for characters I’d like to play, but she helped me develop the confidence I needed to be ready to enter the competitive world of college musical theatre auditions.  I am currently studying musical theatre at my dream school thanks to all of her expert guidance!” - Erin Rebekah Smith

I'm Bridget Beirne, and I love being an actor.

So much so, I've been one professionally for over 20 years. But behind all that love is years of technique and study. Whether you're just falling in love with acting in high school, getting serious with college, university, or conservatory work, starting your professional career, or looking for an artistic outlet to expand creatively, I can help!

I have a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Boston Conservatory. I'm a member of Actors' Equity Association, and have performed in NYC and around the country. I know what it's like to do this thing.

LET'S WORK ON:
  • General acting technique development
  • Audition prep and process for any production: professional, amateur, or educational
  • College auditions
  • Song interpretation (Develop your ability to “act your song” and tell the story of the character)
  • Exploration of new material or building your "rep"
  • Growth of confidence in front of audiences
  • Stronger vocal production in speech
  • Care for the artist doing the acting
  • New creative outlets for artistic expression
  • What YOU want to work on!

"I worked with Bridget on my audition for Mary Poppins, specifically with singing excerpts for multiple characters. She truly helped me make tremendous improvements in my ability to act through the notes, lyrics, and entire song, and I’ve been able to employ those skills even after we stopped working together. She was able to help work through my needed accent, the age gap between myself and the characters, and even some singing technique to ultimately help me get the role I wanted. The biggest thing she helped me realize was the importance of who I am singing to, why I am singing to them, and how my character is trying to get the needed message across, whether it be serious, playful, or angry. I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to work with Bridget and hope others get to experience it as well." - Emma Hoffman

Classes are private one-on-ones, virtual or in-person (depending on your location). Can you do acting lessons online? Of course! Private acting classes online are flexible and easy to fit into busy schedules. And technique work is absolutely effective on your virtual stage!

I believe that being a good actor requires taking care of the human doing the acting, and that studying acting makes you a better human in general through exploring the reality of others.

Let's work on your craft in an enjoyable, supportive, flexible, relaxed, and revelatory manner.

(Oh, and fun - let's have fun, too!)

My rate is $85 / hour, and I encourage hour-long sessions. Let’s talk!

"Someone who gets this much of a bite out of lyrics should be able to take an equally good bite out of the big apple. I say, a star is Beirne."-Peter Filichia, theatre.com
